French War Cemetery
| The French war cemetery is at Venafro about 20km from Cassino and contains 3,414 graves. |
| Many of the graves are now empty, the remains being repatriated, and now serve only as memorials |
| to the fallen soldiers. These graves have "IN MEMORIAM" written on back of gravestone. |

| Roger Mouchel served with the 5th Moroccan Tirailleurs (5e RTM) in the Cassino area. . | ||
| He was killed in Valvori on 4th Febraury 1944. His remains were eventually repatriated | ||
|
to France and the grave shown below is now empty and remains as a monument to him. |
||
|
This is his second place of burial, the first was a temporary cemetery near where he was killed. |
